Insurance
The students will be covered by the aftercare school's insurance.
Absences and Withdrawals
Since expenses continue whether your child is present or not, there will be no credits nor deduction given for the absence of your child. Please notify aftercare if your child will be absent for a prolonged period. If your child is to be withdrawn from the aftercare program, a week notice is required in writing / filling out a withdrawal form in the office. Billing will continue until form is turned in. The account must be paid in full by the time of withdrawal. If your child is withdrawn and you wish to re-enroll, there will be an additional $50 re-enrollment charge.
Aftercare Pickup
At school dismissal, all aftercare students should be dropped off by their teacher to the aftercare bus/teacher designated location.
Charges
Learning House Aftercare must be immediately notified of the changes in telephone numbers (home, work and cellphones).
Behavioral and Disciplinary Policy
All children will be under the supervision of qualified personnel. Students are required to adhere to all policies and rules of the aftercare and the parent contract signed by students at the time of registration. Students who do not follow these rules and guidelines will be withdrawn.
Home Learning
Home learning is a priority and learning house would prefer, and strive towards all children completing their assignments during after school care. An hour block is set in our schedule where there is no talking and home learning must be worked on. Our counselors will review and assist the students to the best of their ability but it is ultimately the parents responsibility to ensure that home learning assignments are completed on a daily basis.
Snacks
Aftercare provides snacks break in its schedule only for children enrolled in full aftercare, tutoring enrollees do not receive a school snack but are welcome to bring or purchase snacks. During snack break the student will receive a light snack and a drink. These student will only be allowed to eat their own or school provided snack during snack time.
Release of students
Any person entering the building to pick up a child must show identification and receive a pass. Student will be released only to those individuals whose names are on the contact cards. Persons not on the card must give written authorization to the director of aftercare. If the aftercare has not obtain verbal follow up authorization from the parent / legal guardian, the child will not be released. An adult must enter the building and physically pick up students. No child will be dismissed to an underage sibling.
Accidents
If your child is injured at the aftercare, we will clean the injury with soap and water, provide ice, a band aid and TLC. “Accidents reports” are written out by the adult present and a copy will be given to the parent. Any injury that require more than the basic listed will necessitate a parent coming to the aftercare to determine if professional medical care is needed. If the injury is an emergency, 911 will be contacted by the director.
Medication
The program does not allow administration of any kind of medication. Parents are welcome to visit the aftercare during operation hours and give needed medication to their child.
Fees
All service fees are outlined on the website and are subject to change with reasonable notice. Fees are payable in advance for the specified duration and service period. Accepted payment methods includes Zelle, Apple Pay, Visa and Mastercard. No cash payments are accepted. Failure to pay fees on time may result in late fees and suspension of service.
Late fees
Late fees will be charged for children remaining after 6:30 p.m. The office clock is used to determine pickup time. The late charge is $1.00 per minute past 6:30 p.m. All late fees are due the following day. Payment are due on Mondays, there will be a $10 late fee for weekly payment made more than 24hrs after due date. If you have an outstanding balance (more than a week), your child will be immediately withdrawn from the program until your balance is paid in full. We realize that there are emergencies and unexpected situations, and your communication and cooperation are greatly appreciated. Late fees may be waived at the discretion of Learning House under exceptional circumstances upon request.
